James Cawley isn’t the only New Voyages actor to secure a spot on Star Trek (2009). Jeff Quinn, who played Spock in the first four episodes of New Voyages (now Phase II), however, got his part the traditional way. When Headquarters Casting put out a casting call for Star Trek, looking for people with 'unique facial features,' sharp-faced Quinn was quick to jump at the chance.
He managed to secure a brief extra part on Star Trek, and judging by his partially-shave eyebrows, he’s a Vulcan. This is not Quinn’s first brush with the entertainment industry, apart from his work on New Voyages, he also works in the visual effects department for Battlestar Galactica. Quinn’s extra role in Star Trek is a non-speaking role that places him "front and center" in a couple shots.
