Tom Cruise visits Star Trek set again
Written by Derek Kessler on Friday, 28 March 2008
Tom CruiseJJ Abrams buddy and admitted Trekkie Tom Cruise apparently stopped by the Star Trek soundstage for a second time this past week and chatted with Abrams. Cruise also asked if he could meet Leonard Nimoy, who is playing old Spock, a character of which Cruise is reportedly a huge fan. This time the report is coming from "a source close to" Cruise and has been picked up by the mainstream press, complete with speculation that he will be playing a previously unannounced part in Star Trek. While there is no evidence to corroborate such speculation, when Tom Cruise was spotted on the set of Tropic Thunder (due out in August 08), he ended up with a small role as well. Oh, and MSNBC... it's Mr. Spock, not Dr. Spock.
