According to The New York Observer, while working on the set of Star Trek (2009), actor Leonard Nimoy tripped and hurt his nose, resulting in some variety of noticeable damage, though the production went on regardless. Nimoy also reportedly has wrapped up his filming parts and on his last day producer/director JJ Abrams gave a speech about 'what an honor it was to have worked with him.'
The Observer report does cite some erroneous facts, including that Nimoy's elder Spock 'makes several cameos in the film in the form of a spirit' and that William Shatner is upset about being 'left out' of the production, which Shatner has repeatedly denied.
Today Leonard Nimoy marks his 77th day on our planet, and while he hasn't had a prolific film career outside of Star Trek, he's found his second love in the form of photography. He published his second book of artistic photography, The Full Body Project, late last year. The specifics of Nimoy's role in Star Trek (2009) are likely to remain a closely-guarded secrect of the production until the film premieres on May 8, 2009 (in 407 days). Regardless, happy birthday Leonard!
