Fake it and win!
Written by Derek Kessler on Monday, 24 March 2008
Star Trek (2009)Okay, that might be a bit of a suggestive title. Science fiction mega-blog io9 recently erroneously posted a short CGI video clip claiming to be from the new JJ Abrams Star Trek movie. While they later learned the error of their ways, they've taken the mistake and turned it on it's head. io9 is now running a "fake it" ST09 contest, looking for fan-submitted fake video.

io9's contest for fake footage runs until April 5th, giving our enterprising graphics wizards the chance to whip up their own clip of the new Starship Enterprise, and hopefully you can make one that's a hundred times more convincing than the fakes that have made their way onto the internet thus far. The winner will be announced on April 7th and will be entitled to a box full of "Star Trek goodies."

For details, check out io9.com.
