When Simon Pegg dies, he wants his ashes to be sent into space, just as was done with his Star Trek predecessor, James Doohan. After Doohan's death in 2005, a portion of his ashes was sent into space aboard a suborbital rocket, they are planned to be permanently lofted into orbit at a later date. Pegg, who is best known for his more comedic roles in self-written films like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz also wants to have The Beatles playing at his funeral. On the subject of Star Trek, Pegg still thinks "[Scotty's] a dream role and amazing fun."
"JJ Abrams is directing and he’s a wonderful man. He’s so committed to it being a proper Star Trek movie. It’s so faithful and so on the money that the fans are going to be very happy," Pegg said.
There is one thing that he has managed to avoid in ST09: stripping. In many of his movies we end up seeing Pegg in his skivvies. He does 'get slightly damp' in Star Trek, but it won't be like in his upcoming film How to Lose Your Friends and Alienate People (due out October 3, 2008) where he's stripping down to his underwear and dancing for Megan Fox.
Pegg's rise to British fame came courtesy of the television shows Spaced and Hippies. In more recent years he's shifted his focus to films, claiming that they are actually easier to manage due to the larger budget and looser time constraints. As his stardom continues to grow, Pegg has secured more and more Hollywood film roles, though he doesn't want to 'up sticks' and move to Los Angeles.
