Pegg talks Trek: You're going to love it
Written by Derek Kessler on Monday, 10 March 2008
Simon PeggAs is the case with most every Star Trek actor interview these days, there's not really much they can tell us. But that didn't stop the questions from hitting a now brown-haired Simon Pegg, asking about his role as engineer Scotty. He said, "Just being there on the Enterprise, it was incredible. You’re going to love it."

I hope so, Simon. Pegg went on to say that his role as Scotty will be a tribute to James Doohan and that he's "very honoured to be able to step into his shoes." Additionally, he tried to assuage concerns over his English accent, saying that he is channeling the accent of his wife, who just so happens to be Scottish. For the record, James Doohan was Canadian and skilled with reasonably faking a variety of accents (including Klingon).

Pegg's filming for ST09 has already wrapped up, but he'll be returning to the Paramount lot in a few weeks for what he described as "some effects stuff."
