Bruce Greenwood's NDA is, like, that thick
Written by Derek Kessler on Saturday, 01 March 2008
Bruce GreenwoodCaught on the blue carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards, MTV asked Bruce Greenwood (Captain Pike) a few questions about Star Trek, to which his answer was pretty much, "I can't say." He held his hands about six inches apart, saying, "The disclosure agreement is like, that thick." Greenwood was being honored at the Spirit Awards for his work on the Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There.

Greenwood thus far has been impressed with his younger ST09 co-stars, Anton Yelchin in particular: "The kids are all great, good actors, smart... [Anton’s] a good chess player. He’s the best chess player on our set." He also said that they have to walk to the soundstage with their heads covered, denying the paparazzi any shots of the actors coming to or going from the sets.

Before he got the role, Greenwood was not a big fan of Star Trek, saying that he was 'ignorant.' Now that he has the role of Captain Pike, he's been doing some catching up, and says that his favorite episode is, fittingly, 'The Menagerie.'

Since the interview took place at the Independent Spirit Awards, MTV asked if there was any sort of disconnect talking about Star Trek there, since the film is a flagship Paramount project with an estimated budget of $150 million. Greewood said, "No,”[Star Trek] stared with a very strong artistic voice, [and our movie] is a celebration of that."
