Toronto Symphony Orchesta to put on 'Star Trek: The Music' concerts
Written by Derek Kessler on Monday, 04 February 2008
Piano keysBased out of Roy Thompson Hall in downton Toronto, the world-famous Toronto Symphony Orchestra will be performing not one, but two Star Trek concerts this summer. Under the direction of guest conductor Erich Kunzel of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, the TSO will do the same for Trek as they did three years ago for Star Wars. Star Trek veteran actors John de Lancie (Q) and and Robert Picardo (The Doctor) will be on hand to provide narration.

The two concerts, scheduled for 8:00 PM on June 20 and 21, 2008, will cover all of Star Trek, from Alexander Courage's original Star Trek theme to Jerry Goldsmith's theme for Star Trek: Voyager. The TSO will also play Trek pieces by Cliff Eidelman (The Undiscovered Country), Leonard Roseman (The Voyage Home), Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek: The Next Generation), and James Horner (The Wrath of Khan).

Tickets for the Roy Thompson Hall events will range from $33 to $98 and are on sale now.
