Eric Bana describes role as 'cameo,' say it isn't so
Written by Derek Kessler on Monday, 04 February 2008
Eric BanaIt isn't. In an interview with the Australian Herald Sun paper about Eric Bana's career, the actor said of his role in Star Trek, "It's just a great character, it's JJ Abrams. It’s a really well-written script, great part. Couldn't say no. I don't actually look at the size of parts ever." He described his role as Nero as that of a 'cameo.'

TrekMovie.com has confirmed that Bana has yet to begin shooting for ST08, and that his part doesn't fit the definition of cameo (a single scene celebrity role for the sake of having the celebrity in the aforementioned scene). They say that Nero will certainly be more than just a cameo part and that his appearance is vital to the plot of the film.
