Star Trek: New Voyages, arguably the most professionally produced of all fan films, will be premiering a re-edit of the episode 'To Serve All My Days' starring Walter Koenig. The re-edit will debut at a gala event on March 29th in Beverly Hills, CA. Original theme music will be put into place, as well as a new ending and vintage 1969 commercials, completing the "A Night in 1969" theme of the event. The re-edit was originally planned for release on Christmas 2007.
The premiere will take place at the Fine Arts Theater in Beverly Hills, the same location where the following episode, 'World Enough and Time' (starring George Takei) premiered last year. Of particular importance for the gala event will be promoting the campaign to secure Walter Koenig a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; he is the only cast member from The Original Series to not have a star. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce votes every year to determine who (or what) will recieve a star, this year they will meet in June.
The gala event will begin at 6:30 PM on March 29th, with the screening starting an hour later, followed by a Q&A session. Attending will be the New Voyages cast, invited guests, Trek celebrities, Walk of Fame committee members, and members of the media. The revised episode will also be released online at the same time for free download to the public.
New Voyages plans to release their next episode, 'Blood and Fire,' as a two parter. Starring Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar from Star Trek: The Next Generation), the first part should be availble in April, with the second arriving in May. 'Blood and Fire' was written by David Gerrold.
Additionally, pre-production work is under way on two more episodes. The first is 'Rest and Retaliation,' written by Dave Galanter and Greg Brodeur, and directed by Kevin Rubio. The crew will be doing location filming at the famous Vasquez Rocks in California in March. 'Rest and Retaliation' is projected to be released some time in 2008.
Following that will be 'Killkenny Cats' a story featuring the feline Kzinti first introduced in The Animated Series. 'Killkenny Cats' was adapted from a story originally intended for Star Trek: Enterprise and was written by Jimmy Diggs. Unlike the only time we've seen them when they were hand-animated, the new Kzinti will be fully CGI-rendered, as seen on the promotional poster below:

"Oh you know the story. Girl meets boy. Girl modifies boy's subroutines."
