In the past 40 years, the character of Spock had primarily been portrayed by Leonard Nimoy, though on occassion other actors have played the part, usually as a younger incarnation of the iconic Vulcan. We know that the character will be acted by both Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto in Star Trek (2008), but in a recent interview with CBS 2 KCAL Los Angeles, Nimoy revealed that there may actually be even more to it.
Speaking on the movie, Nimoy said that there are in fact three actors playing Spock in ST08. If we take a moment to analyze what we know about the movie based on the age of the actors playing their characters (for instance, 36-year-old Winona Ryder playing Spock's mother Amanda Grayson), it stands to reason that there's a possibility we'll see Spock at an even younger age than that of Zachary Quinto, who is 30 years old.
Looking over the actors, their parts, and the spoilers we've thus far seen, Trek Movie Report has determined that the following are at the very least the times in Trek history that we will see:
- Kirk’s parents at the point of his birth
- Spock and parents during his childhood
- Kirk as he is a cadet at Starfleet Academy
- Spock under the command of Pike on the Enterprise
- Kirk and crew as he takes command of the Enterprise
- Spock in a post-TNG future
