Coming up on Slice of SciFi Show #142: Joe Boudrie
Written by Samuel K. Sloan on Thursday, 03 January 2008
Slice of SciFiThis Saturday, January 5 Slice of SciFi airs its 142nd show and the first for the new year 2008. It comes from the newly set-up DracoVista studio and it's all Mike, Brian and Tim. Summer is away not feeling too well, as is Sam and lots of other folk. Joining the gang is krazy Joe Fiore and they will talk about their holiday time away from the studio and the great Party Fest held last week. Our guest interview is Mr. Joe Boudrie, director and operations program manager for the Phoenix Comic-Con coming to Arizona on January 25-27.

In the news scientists have uncovered the remains of a huge, long-necked dinosaur that lumbered across what we now call Anatartica over 190 million years ago. Ah yes, back in the day that winter getaway for penguins was a tropical paradise.

The WGA writer's strike is beginning to cost studios and television networks major bucks. Perhaps now that the bigwigs and fat-cats in their ivory towers are starting to feel the pinch where it hurts them the most, they may be ready to sit down and seriously negotiate with the writers, whose demands probably don't seem so astronomical compared to ad revenues being lost with lackluster reality shows and substantial loss in viewership.

Marvel has announced that the first chapter of Stephen King's Dark Towers series with chapter titled The Gunslinger Born is now available online. Written by author Peter David and Dark Towers expert Robin Furth. Illustrations by Jae Lee and Richard Isanove.

We take a look at the 45-year career of actor Jeff Bridges in the Movie Talk segment and concentrate on his latest film Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr.

Alien vs Predator: Requiem has been released theatrically and closes out the Earthbound chapter of the popular franchise. Any future films will be entirely in space.

With The 4400 saying goodbye as a series another of its past actors will be moving over to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Garret Dillahunt comes onboard as a nasty Terminator named Cromartie.

The future is full of Monsters and Aliens as DreamWorks Animation kicks off our new year with news about a film based on the horror comic book series Rex Havoc and the Ass-Kickers of the Fantastic. Ben Stiller serves up a Night At the Museum sequel to his surprise hit film that garnered some major bucks for him and Twentieth Century-Fox.

Check out the show this Saturday the 5th online and on XM-Satellite Radio on Monday January 7.
