Nana Visitor, best known to Star Trek fans as Major (then Colonel) Kira Nerys from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, has landed herself a recurring role on the fourth season of SciFi Channel's Battlestar Galactica. Possible spoilers on the character and plot follow.
Visitor's role will be that of a cancer patient named Emily, who meets and brefriends President Laura Roslin (played by Mary McDonnell) as they both undergo treatment. Battlestar Galactica was revitalized in 2004 by Ron D. Moore, who worked as a writer and producer for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. Adding to the Trek connection, Battlestar recently featured Michelle Forbes (Ensign Ro Laren) in the BSG TV movie Razor.
