Scott Bakula to guest star on Boston Legal
Written by Derek Kessler on Tuesday, 11 December 2007
Scott BakulaJoining the original Star Trek captain, Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer from Star Trek: Enterprise) has already filmed a guest star spot on the ABC hit Boston Legal, which stars Captain James T. Kirk himself, William Shatner. Not only will Bakula be appearing on Boston Legal with Shatner, the show is also the home to his former on-screen love interest from Murphy Brown, Candice Bergen.

Boston Legal has previously snagged several Star Trek stars for guest roles, including Armin Shimerman, Ethan Phillips, and Jeri Ryan. And, lest we not forget, Rene Auberjonois, who has held a regular role on the series since 2004. We don't yet know if Bakula and Shatner will meet on screen, as the producers of Enterprise tried to manage (rumor had it they wanted to snare Shatner to ply Chef, but he wanted to play one of Kirk's ancestors instead), but you should probably keep your phase pistols set on stun, just in case.

Boston Legal is one of the few shows still in production duing the WGA strike, with production set to wrap on December 14th. David E. Kelley, the show's creator and executive producer, was able to pound out three complete scripts leading up to the strike, ensuring that his show could go on for a little while longer. Most other scripted shows have already ceased production until the strike ends.
