Star Trek (2008) Rumor Round-Up: 11/19/07 - 11/24/07
Written by Derek Kessler on Monday, 26 November 2007
Star Trek (2008)Avast! Thar be more news from the land 'o Star Trek! Aye, we have with us this week even mo' casting news, better spy shots than the last time around, a filming location you'll recognize, and some talk from Mr. Quinto on the trials of being a actor and also being Spock. It was a quiet week in comparison to the past few weeks - though it was the holiday weekend. So on with the round-up, Aye!

TrekUnited: Ben Cross cast as Sarek
Sarek, father of Spock, has been cast. And the man's name is Ben Cross. A graduate of London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Cross rose to international stardom with his breakout role as runner Harold Abrahams in the Academy Award-winning 1981 film Chariots of Fire. He will be seen in the upcoming Hero Wanted with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ray Liotta.

Canadian Turtle LiveJournal: Clearer Star Trek spy photos
Pretty much, all we get to see here are some much clearer photos of Zachary Quinto in his Spock gear. The likeness is pretty close, if I may say so.

Vasquez Rocks in 'Arena'Trek Movie Report: Gorn rocks
They're pretty famous rocks - we've seen them in all manner of television and movie films, including the original series episode 'Arena' and in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, and various episodes in The Next Generation, Voyager, and Enterprise. They're the Vasquez Rocks, and their iconic silhouette will once again grace the silver screen in Star Trek (2008). Consistent with the secrecy surrounding Star Trek, we don't know what will happen at the rocks, who will be there, or what planet the rocks will represent, but we know they'll be there.

"If Spock were here, he'd say that I was an irrational, illlogical human being for going on a mission like this... Sounds like fun!"
