 Wow, what a week! We've got no fewer that eight, yes, eight, Star Trek articles for your this week. We've got word on Quinto's preparation for the role, the continuing search for Kirk and Scotty, and a possible villain? And some more plot rumor, so watch yourself! All this and more, on this week's rumor round-up!
New York Press: Quinto will immerse himself in Star Trek
He's looking forward to it, which is always a good sign. And he's also aware that taking a break from Heroes to focus on Star Trek could very well lead to his loosing the role on Heroes. "Star Trek is a worthy thing to make that risk for."

Trek Movie Report: McGillion has auditioned for ST role
Okay, it is later. According to sources that TMR has contacted, Paul McGillion has indeed auditioned for the role of Scotty. He says, "Obviously it would be a great honour to follow in James Doohan’s footsteps." And apparently Chris Doohan, the son of the late James Doohan, has given McGillion a ringing non-binding endorsement.

MTV: Adrien Brody was considered for Spock
You may have heard the rumor earlier this year, that the star of The Pianist, Adrien Brody, was being considered for the role of Spock. Turns out, he did. He talked to JJ Abrams, his parents got a kick out of it, and nothing happened from there.

IESB.net: Mike Vogel might be Kirk
Lots of casting rumors this week, and this one yet again tries to tackle who best to fill the shoes of William Shatner. Turns out, nobody is quite sure just yet. But rumor has it that Mike Vogel (Poseidon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is JJ Abrams' frontrunner for the part. Only time will tell it that actually is the case.

IESB.net: Karl Urban and the Romulans <<< SPOILERS >>>

Rumor has it that Karl Urban (Xena, Lord of the Rings, The Bourne Supremacy) is going to be playing a Romulan villain in Star Trek. And he is on a mission to erase Earth from time. Young Spock (Quinto) and Old Spock (Nimoy) have to work together to stop/undo the damage.

Trek Movie Report: Karl Urban - not the villian
Following right on the heels of the IESB report, comes this news from TMR. They disagree. Kinda. They claim that their sources close to the production are saying that Urban is being considered for a part, but that it is not that of a villain. I repeat: not a villain. Maybe Scotty, or Dr. McCoy, they propose.
