After the rush of news that was last week, things have slowed down again. 472 days out is a long way, and filming isn't scheduled to start for another two months. I suppose it would be nice to have some of the actors nailed down by now, and maybe they are and we just haven't been told yet. We'll see. Regardless, on with the round-up!
National Post: Developmental Spock It's a very small snippet from a Heroes promotional tour, but here it is nonetheless: Turns out, Mr. Quinto has lined up a role as young Spock in Star Trek XI, out next year. Will he Spock it up for Toronto? Mr. Quinto demurs: the character is in the “developmental” stage. That's it. Discuss: TrekUnited Forum
The Daily Record: Star Trek XI: The Search For Scotty Another actor has apparently joined the running for Scotty, and he's also an authentic Scotsman: Martin Compston. He's up against Greg Hemphill and James McAvoy. A former soccer player (or as the Scots put it, footballer), Compston started his acting career in 2002 when he was picked by director Ken Loach to play Liam in the film Sweet Sixteen.
