In an unprecedented sensory experience, rocket engines boost you beyond the normal limits of flight to regions above 62 miles (100 kilometers) - where space begins. After the engines shutdown, you will experience up to five minutes of continuous weightlessness, all the while gazing at the vast blackness of space and the blue horizon of the Earth below.
And it's free. Gillette (yes, the razor people) has unveiled a new contest - a free sub-orbital flight courtesy of Space Adventures: "Hitch a Ride to Outer Space." The first and only prize is a sub-orbital flight out of Ras Al-Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates and three days of training, along with getting to keep your flight suit.
Of course, there's a catch. You have to be over 18 years old. You have to give Gillette your personal contact information. You have to be healthy enough to fly to the edge of the atmosphere. And you have to be a Canadian citizen. Sorry, rest of the world. Otherwise, that's it. All entries must be recieved by December 31st, 2007; the winner will be selected randomly from all entries. Oh, and if you win, you'll go up sometime by July 2010.
