Hear ye, hear ye. It be time for ye weekly helpin' of Star Trek XI news! Gather 'round, ye internet folk to hear ye a tail as long and the Nile and as high as Mount Everest! Or something like that. Okay, not really anything so grand. This week we have a veteran endorsement of JJ Abrams, and the Shat speaks. Again. On with the round-up!
Trek Movie: Ron Moore supports Abrams and 'starting over' Deep Space Nine producer Ron Moore may now have a job running Battlestar Galactica, but that doesn't stop him from keeping up on the latest Star Trek news. Ambushed on the red carpet at a screening of BSG, Moore said that going back to the days of Kirk is a 'smart move' and that Star Trek is so burdened with its years and years of continuity that it needs "to brush all that stuff over and say 'what were the roots of all this again, what was this really about?' "
ShatnerVision: Shatner wants to be in the loop Like he's not already. You know he knows what's going on, but that he's signed a contract saying that he hasn't a clue and nobody is talking to him. Apparently after the initial meeting that Abrams had with Shatner and Star Trek cohort Leonard Nimoy there haven't been any further communications, and since Shatner is obviously a busy guy, he hasn't been reading up on the non-news that is ST:XI. He says, 'If you hear anything, send us an email so you can tell us.'
