In a message posted on the Star Trek: Of Gods and Men website, the production team has announced that they are again delaying the release of Act One of the semi-professional fan film. The mostly volunteer production crew has been working hard to ensure that the quality of the final product at the very least matches that of big-budget Hollywood productions, which means that it's going to take some time. As their website reads, "Our goal is to honor the legacy of Gene Roddenberry on the 40th Anniversary with an Internet mini-series tribute worthy of Star Trek and its ideals. Such lofty goals require us to choose quality over expediency."
At the same time the OGaM website has been rebuilt to include many new features such as a forum, outtakes, new images and newsletter sign-up. More features such as behind the scenes information, interviews with cast and crew, and more are also on the way. And, just to whet your appetites, OGaM has released the first three minutes of act one, featuring Ethan Phillips out of his old Neelix makeup from Star Trek: Voyager.
