In conjunction with the website redesign, TrekUnited is proud to announce the start of a new series of chats, that will focus on the producers, directors and actors involved in Star Trek fan films. This is your chance to talk to the people who are at the cutting edge of sci-fi fandom, creating new adventures to ensure that Star Trek continues to "Boldly Go" where the fans want to take it!
Few will deny that the explosion of interest in fan productions is one of the most exciting avenues open to fans today. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to see themselves on the screen playing out more fantastic adventures in the futuristic world of Star Trek? This is your chance to talk to fans who are doing just that!
Starting with the creators of Tales of the Seventh Fleet on Sep 30, you can say Hi and throw any question at them that strikes your fancy. What is the difference between keying greenscreen live against in post? How do you do Orion makeup: is it easy being green? Where did you get the costumes from, especially the movie era parkas? What lies in the future for Tales of the Seventh Fleet and Star Trek fan films?
Being part of a TrekUnited chat is only the beginning. A transcript will appear on the forums usually the next day for anyone who misses it, followed within a week by an in depth article based on the chat that will cover all aspects of the group - past, present and future - from the secret files of the House of L'Stok! In addition they will be highlighted by an article in TrekUnited's monthly newsletter, Hailing Frequencies Open and of course they will have their constantly updated home page on the new TrekUnited fan film directory and a discussion thread on the soon-to-be-reorganised TrekUnited fan production forum.
Let's show these great Star Trek fan groups that they are appreciated! Keep your eyes on the Trekunited News for advance notice of future chats!
