Green girls in Star Trek mean one thing and one thing only: Orion slave girls. Keep your pants on boys, as model and actress Diora Baird has revealed in an interview with Maxim Magazine that she was cast as “the green girl” in the upcoming Star Trek film. Asked to elaborate (you’re an alien?), Baird said, “I would assume so - unless I was born with a skin disease. In the original series, there were these infamous green women that Captain Kirk would hit on, and so without giving too much away, I’m one of those green girls.” Baird is joining fellow model/actress Rachel Nichols as one of the film’s Orion females.
Now what role exactly the Orion slave girls will play in ST09 has yet to be revealed. They could very well be background props or in a bar that Kirk and company fall into. Or they could be the hormone-charged dominatrixes that they were shown to be in Star Trek: Enterprise. More than likely, we won’t know until May 8, 2009.
