At the official Star Trek convention in Las Vegas, Paramount Pictures saw fit to release four more Star Trek (2009) character posters in the same vein as the four loosed upon the public back at Comic Con San Diego. Up this time are John Cho as Hikaru Sulu in black, Simon Pegg as Montgomery “Scotty” Scott in red, Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard McCoy in blue, and young Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov in yellow. These four, like the previous set of Nero, Uhura, Spock, and Kirk, are all cropped in such a way that when arranged properly create the famous Star Trek delta shield. [minor spoilers]
As before, the four posters were released as posters at a science fiction convention, and will not be put up in movie theaters and the like. The purpose now is to energize and stimulate the current Star Trek fan base; outreach to non-fans will happen later on. And, as before, the posters were soon uploaded as high definition desktop backgrounds on the Star Trek (2009) movie website. We’ve taken the liberty of hosting them here for your convenience.
With the new four, we’ve now seen in makeup all but one of the main cast for ST09: Leonard Nimoy as old Spock. When will we see him, Paramount?
