Just in time for the holiday shopping season, the third season of Star Trek Remastered will be hitting the shelves on November 14th, 2008. Like season two, this for now is a DVD-only release, with no Blu-ray companion set announced. The set will feature the same style packaging as the previous two seasons, just with a red color scheme (following that of the TOS crew uniforms - yellow, blue, and red). Just like the prior seasons, the DVD set will feature the full-length remastered episodes - broadcast episodes have been cut by several minutes for modern advertising requirements - and likely a myriad of special features.
What those special features will be has yet to be announced, though like the previous sets, will probably include more of Billy Blackburn’s from the set home movies. Also, if the third season DVD set of the original effects series is any indication, this season three set may come with the added bonus of containing the never-aired ‘The Cage’ remastered.
CBS has set the MSRP for Star Trek: The Original Series Season 3 Remastered DVD set at $84.98, but at the time of this posting, Amazon.com had it available for pre-order at the price of $66.99
