Star Trek PEZ dispensers coming this fall |

 Seriously. According to TrekMovie.com, the new Pez candy dispensers were originally slated to coincide with the Christmas 2008 launch of the new Star Trek movie, but when Paramount pushed back the movie to the summer of 2009, Pez decided to press ahead without them. All the same, it makes sense, because the heads will be those of the original series crew (i.e. Shatner, Nimoy, and the gang).
Pez Candy will be putting out eight Star Trek dispensers in a gift set complete with the iconic miniature candies. The eight dispensers depict the original crew of the Enterprise – Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov – as well as the ship itself. According to TrekMovie.com, the U.S.S. Enterprise Pez Dispenser is a first for the company, as it depicts a ‘scene’ (the Enterprise emerging from a nebula), whereas all other Pez dispensers have been heads of people and characters.

The Star Trek Pez dispensers will be sold as a complete set (the Limited Edition Star Trek Pez Collectors Gift Set, quite a mouthful in more ways than one) and will be available in the fall for around $20 at the Pez online and factor stores, as well as with retailers nationwide. Just one caveat: the set is limited to a run of 250,000, so when they’re gone, they’re gone. To ensure authenticity, each box will be marked with a numbered sticker.
