 TrekMovie.com got the scoop on what’s going inside the Star Trek: Alternate Realities Fan Collective DVD set due out on September 16, 2008. As expected, there will be a good number of mirror universe episodes (six out of 20) and episodes from all five live-action series, as well as a free-with-purchase action figure promotion.

Obviously, there will also be a number of special features, but there was no information on those at press time.
The price has also gone up from the previous Fan Collectives, up to $42.99. That price, however, also nets you an exclusive ‘Geordi figure offer from Diamond Select Toys,’ which we can only assume will be some variety of alternate reality Geordi. Of the episodes featured, only the Voyager episode 'Timeless' really features an ‘alternate’ Geordi, this one the captain of the Galaxy-class U.S.S. Challenger. Previously, the Q Fan Collective set had a blue-shirted Lieutenant Picard from ‘Tapestry’ as a promotional give-away.
Additionally, TVShowsOnDVD, which broke the news about Alternate Realities in the first place, has obtained the box art for the DVD set, and as expected, Mirror Spock is on it. At least, we assume that’s him underneath the “Includes Exclusive Figure Offer!” sticker. It always stood to reason that the bearded Spock would be the one on the box, as the mirror universe goatee is the most enduring ‘alternate reality’ icon of Star Trek, working its way into shows like South Park, Hercules, and Futurama.
The Star Trek: Alternate Realities Fan Collective DVD set is not yet available for pre-order, but as soon as it is, you can expect us to let you know.
