Nobody really talked about it, possibly out of embarrassment, but Star Trek: The Tour, has been closed in Long Beach, California, for a few months now and hasn’t moved on to its next city, San Francisco. As it would turn out, the owners of the Queen Mary site where The Tour was set up decided that they were owed an additional $200,000 by SEE Touring Productions, and that’s two hundred thousand dollars they either didn’t have or didn’t want to pay. The Tour has now traded hands and will be moving on.
The new owner of Star Trek: The Tour is Plainfield Asset Management, a Connecticut-based investment capital company. Plainfield Asset Management had put up the money for SEE Touring Productions to pay for The Tour, though when the dispute over the Queen Mary charges went on for two months, Plainfield apparently decided to cut their losses and took over the tour.
With the dispute settled, Star Trek: The Tour is now moving on to San Francisco, with plans to be completely off the Queen Mary site by June 6th.
