Seems I remember writing this article before. That’s because I have. As of Christmas 2007, Star Trek was still on track for a Christmas 2008 release. Three months ago, Paramount Pictures delayed Star Trek to May 9, 2009, confident that the film will be a summer blockbuster. Since then we have learned a good deal about the film, including casting and getting a glimpse of the first teaser trailer. Or replaying it a hundred times over. Whatever your level of excitement about the film, we’re sure to have an interesting year ahead of us.
So what can we expect?
More stuff, obviously. Teaser trailers, cast shots, more teaser posters, novel and comic tie-ins, full Enterprise photos, more ‘viral’ marketing sites, toys and other merchandising, a real poster, the soundtrack, full trailers, and [presumably] some more spoilers.
Maybe. That all depends on the level of secrecy that JJ Abrams wants to keep going around the production. If what we’ve seen up to this point is any indication, don’t count on learning a whole lot more about ST09 in the next year. There will of course, be countless interviews with the cast and crew, but will they say anything new? Well... maybe.
It’s going to be a long year, folks!

"If Spock were here, he'd say that I was an irrational, illlogical human being for going on a mission like this... Sounds like fun!"
