It's been a long while since we've heard anything from the Star Trek: Of Gods and Men crew, but it seems that after numerous delays - we were originally promised the release of part one for 2006 - they've finally gotten the semi-professional internet mini-series up to their standards and set a date: December 22, 2007, at 5:01 pm EST. Of Gods and Men is easily one of the more ambitious Star Trek fan films to date (contrary to Tim Russ's assertion that it is not a fan film), and features a cast comprised almost entirely of veteran Star Trek actors, including Nichelle Nichols (Uhura in Star Trek), George Takei (Sulu in Star Trek), Alan Ruck (Captain Harriman in Generations) J. G. Hertzler (Martok in Deep Space Nine), Garret Wang (Harry Kim in Voyager), and Gary Graham (Soval in Enterprise), among others; the film is directed by Tim Russ. |

Entitled "Just Passing Through," the brief film tells the story of how First Officer Robert Tacket and Chief Engineer Michelle Smithfield met several years before the setting of the full-length Farrafut features such as "The Captaincy." The script was written by Holly Bendar (who plays Smithfield), and Dennis Russell Baily, a man best known for his script work on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Starship Exeter's "The Tressaurian Intersection." |

The New Voyages crew today released their latest endeavour, titled "World and Time Enough," starring none other than Star Trek veteran actor George Takei as Hikaru Sulu. Early reviews of this episode have been overwhelmingly postive, placing it at the pinnacle of Star Trek fan films, rivallng the quality of the professionally-produced Star Trek series and movies. Aided by actors such as Takei and Grace Lee Whitney, as well as the CGI wizards at the DAVE School, "World and Time Enough" has raised the bar considerably for fan films. |
