To paraphrase Garrett Wang’s Commander Garan, “You’re going to enjoy this.” Building on the surprising, complex, and moderately confusing story of Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, Act 1, the second act of the alternate-universe saga plunges head-first into rich characters and a tragic universe. If you thought Act 1 was good, then Act 2 will blow you away. |

Star Trek: Dark Armada have been taking a well earned rest after the High profile showing of their two trailers before the showing of the Star Trek episode “The Menagerie” at the Pathé Cinema in The Hague. Their year kicked off with a new website and a tech crew meeting at Zoetermeer on Jan 13 where they decided on software and file formats as well as the entire workflow from transportation to publishing the finished episodes. As a result of the meeting, the crew got together a sizable amount of money to invest in better software and hardware which was needed to continue making the episodes. Their next goal is to get their our own camera and a better lighting system, making them less dependant on the generosity of others and able to plan more recording days. |

Hidden Frontier has posted a preview for the next episode of their series Star Trek: The Helena Chronicles, titled 'Obsessions.' The preview itself is well put-together and gives a good sense of the drama and tension that we should expect to see when 'Obsessions' is released later this year. The story will have multiple lines going at the same time, with Corey Aster struggling to cope with the loss of his husband, Ro Nevin (aboard the Odyssey), the Orion Syndicate getting their grubby paws on a thalaron device, and some old friends and foes rearing their heads while the crew of the Starship Helena sets out to prevent the weapon from falling into the wrong hands. |

This coming Tuesday, March 4th, Hidden Frontier will release the third episode in its Star Trek: Odyssey series, ‘The Lotus Eaters,’ a name taken from Homer’s The Odyssey. As usual, the graphics are the top-notch work we’ve come to expect from the Hidden Frontier gang, but compared to the previous two entries in the Odyssey series, the story and acting fall short. |

One of the longest running Star Trek fan films groups on the planet, Hidden Frontier, has announced that they are developing an original science fiction project that stands firmly outside the realm of Star Trek. This is a first for Hidden Frontier, which currently is juggling production on Star Trek: The Helena Chronicles, Star Trek: Odyssey, and the joint project with Star Trek: Intrepid (Operation Beta Shield). While theyhave yet to reveal any details about what this new production will entail, we have been assured that they hope to continue to produce projects like Helena and Odyssey for many more years. |

As you may have heard, the Star Trek: New Voyages (now Phase II) episode ‘World Enough and Time’ was nominated for a Nebula Award for Best Script. While the move was praised by fans of the series and of fan films in general, it drew the ire of members in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, who argued that the nomination was bogus due to New Voyages’ status as a fan film. The challenge delayed the submission of the voting ballots and after consideration of the facts of the case, the SFWA Board of Directors has decided to allow New Voyages to stay on the ballot. |

We've all seen fan fiction and fan art, but it's not often in the Star Trek world that we see the two combined. One G.S. Davis has taken that leap, melding snappy dialog and beautifully-penned manga imagery in what has become U.S.S. Tamarlane,a rare fan-made Trek comic series. Davis recently posted the first full edition of Tamarlane, entitled 'The Champion.' |

Editorial: Why must Earth fight? Chuck Harrison - Australian News Network January 4, 2157
After nearly a century of relative peace on Earth and our solar system, the question of why Earth is fighting the Romulans has been raised by citizens throughout the planet and her colonies since Prime Minister Samuels declared war on December 21 last year.
The people who believe that going to war is not the solution to Romulan aggression, and who believe that Earth should have a 'live and let live' policy with Romulus must remember that the Romulans do not believe in letting other races live in peace and harmony. They believe in taking planets and space at their leisure no matter where the planets are and no matter what race is on that planet. |
