Joining the original Star Trek captain, Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer from Star Trek: Enterprise) has already filmed a guest star spot on the ABC hit Boston Legal, which stars Captain James T. Kirk himself, William Shatner. Not only will Bakula be appearing on Boston Legal with Shatner, the show is also the home to his former on-screen love interest from Murphy Brown, Candice Bergen. |

This week's Slice of SciFi Show #138 will welcome producer Eric Wilkinson and director Richard Schenkman, the men behind the new SF film "The Man From Earth." This unique film stars John Billingsley, Ellen Crawford, William Katt David Lee Smith and Tony Todd. It comes from the pen of the late Jerome Bixby and tells the story of retiring Professor John Oldman. His goodbye party becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he is an immortal who has walked the earth for thousands of years. The film was released last month. |

Culp, who also played Commander Martin Madden, the new first officer of the Enterprise-E in a scene cut from Star Trek Nemesis, turns 52 today. Recently, Culp has been appearing on Desperate Housewives, Traveler, and Stargate: Atlantis. |

Captain Picard can act! At the 53rd Evening Standard Awards in London, Patrick Stewart recieved the Best Actor award for his much-lauded performance in Shakespeare's 'MacBeth.' The annual awards ceremony honors the best in British theater, and this year was held at the Savoy Hotel in London. Stewart, who played the title role in 'MacBeth,' was nominated against powerhouse British actors Charles Dance, Mark Rylance and Robert Lindsay. |

Walter Koenig's science fiction drama InAlienable premiered yesterday at Paramount Studios, and will now be available online on December 15th. InAlienable stars several science fiction personalities, including Richard Hatch, Marina Sirtis, Erick Avari, and Walter Koenig. Also appearing are several Star Trek veterans, such as Gary Graham and Alan Ruck. The entire 105-minute movie will be available online for the low price of $2.99 a showing. |

Patrick Stewart has been scoring critical acclaim since his return to the London theatre stage where he began his acting career. Stewart and Kate Fleetwood - playing Lady Macbeth - will perform a six week run of Macbeth in Brooklyn, New York, starting in February of next year. Stewart won the award for Best Performance in a Play at the 2007 TMA Awards for his performace of the title character in Macbeth. |

Veteran Star Trek: Enterprise actors John Billingsley (Dr. Phlox) and Gary Graham (Ambassador Soval) have a new show: Alive. The show comes from the heads of Star Trek legends Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, and it is of all things, an apocalyptic zombie world. Yes, I said zombies. The show will revolve around a number of people hiding in a bunker to continue the government at some later point. |

You've all certainly seen those ads to name a star after somebody, for a price. Those are what we call a sham. Now there is a group, the Committe on Small Body Nomenclature of the International Astronomical Union that does deal with these things, and they're legit. And they've taken the step of naming an astroid orbiting between Mars and Jupiter after the incomprable George Takei: 7307 Takei. |
