We at TrekUnited are pleased to be running our first contest: an enter-to-win for a 2008 Ships of the Line wall calendar. It's really simple too, all you have to do is reply to in the contest thread to enter yourself in the drawing and we will randomly select a replying member to win. Of course, there are rules; you can find them inside. |

I'm pleased to announce that TrekUnited has just added a backgrounds section to the gallery, featuring high resolution background images from Star Trek and space, that famous final frontier. Right now, the background gallery holds some 200+ images, all pretty much very awesome. As with everything we do here at TrekUnited, these backgrounds are free for you to use and open to submissions by the membership. |

TrekUnited, SciFiUnited, Galactica.com, and Dr. Who Daily are very sorry about the recent and unexpected downtime our network experienced. Turns out our server had some major malfunctional problems that took down the whole system. Thankfully, we were able to get everything repaired and restored, so hopefully we won't have to deal with any more crashes for a while. |

Save Enterprise has launched a new fan fiction series titled "Dispatches from the Romulan War.". It differs from traditional a fan fiction story by taking the form of a series of news reports about Romulan War, rather than a narrative story. We are planning on producing a variety of reports, coverage will range from reporting during the soon-to-happen epic battles to personal interest stories about those on the front lines and the homefront. Additionally, the reports will be filed from a variety of perspectives; from Humans to Vulcans to Tellarites and more. |

I was wondering one day why nobody was buying anything through the TU Amazon USA store, because we at TU do get a cut of the sale to help us pay for fun things like our servers (in the interests of full disclosure, it's 4%). So I decided to look at the TU Amazon USA store, being the Amazon fan and shopper that I am, and I discovered that the only thing I could find on there were books from last year. Now I don't have anything against books from last year, but I seem to recall that there were all kinds of new things released since then, like the TOS remastered HD DVD set. |

Commander (and later Captain) William T. Riker, known in the real world as Jonathan Frakes, will be coming to FedConUSA! On Sunday June 15th only, Frakes will be present in Dallas, Texas for the inagural FCUSA convention. Frakes played Commander Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in Star Trek Generations, First Contact, Insurrection, and Nemesis, for a run of 14 years as the same character, not counting a cameo as Riker in the finale of Star Trek: Enterprise. |
