I was wondering, in the past did anyone ever try asking the the network that cancelled Enterprise if they would sell it to another network to continue?

I don't think so, but if any company out there was interested, they would have already tried. And it's not like CBS isn't using it. They still make money from DVDs, syndication, and tie-ins like novels.
