I went with "Miri" although I love "For the world is hollow .." because I love McCoy in that one. But the Miri story, for me, kind of symbolizes fear of getting older, everyone's fear, of childhood ending, beauty fading, that sort of thing. Plus I like Kim Darby.

The whole premise more or less ended up being made into the wholly unrelated New Zealand sci-fi series, "The Tribe".

"the Naked time" is probably my favorite, because it is so corny. and also funny. it might even be my favorite for the whole series, that I've seen. I just never know how to end these things.

I chose "This Side of Paradise". I thought that the emotional version of Spock in this episode really showed another side to the otherwise cerebral science officer. In addition, i thought that this episode really laid the framework for the strong bond that we would grow to admire between Kirk and Spock.

  • Interests:For this forum - 'Star Trek' obviously! I write fan fiction and am currently in the process of writing a planned series of fan novels based on the joint adventures of Jean-Luc Picard and Shinzon (it's amazing what you can do with a bit of bad science and a huge amount of imagination!). Actually, I've been trekking since 1969 and I love all Star Trek. I have books galore and I collect Art Asylum 7" Star Trek figures as well.Apart from that I love movies, reading, music and occasionally making my own art.

When I first watched that episode as a kid, I was really disturbed by it. I first saw it in black and white which really lent it an eerie tone. Did you know that it was only shown once in Britain during the 60s and 70s and became one of the infamous 3 banned episodes. I had no idea why until recently when I read somewhere that some people were concerned by kirk's apparent atttraction/affection for an underage girl!

I agree and also I had a childhood crush on Spock too and nearly fainted when he kissed the girl :w00t: . This became my favorite episode. I couldn't even guess how many times I've seen it.

The Deadly Years was a very good episode. Watching them deal with rapid aging was awesome and watching poor Chekov get run ragged in sickbay, great episode. I love it.
