Caretaker is mine, although Scorpion and Equinox rank very high. The 37's always felt like it should have been the finale of season 1 instead of the premiere of season 2. ....it just felt more like a finale than a premiere to me.

I agree with everything you said there Greg. With the VHS releases of Voyager, "The 37's" was the Season1 finale so for me it's had to think of it as anything but.

It was really a toss up for me between Equinox and Scorpion. I liked Scorpion a lot, but I found the whole story of the Equinox crew interesting. It was basically like a big "What if?" senario. If Voyager had had these same experiences, would they have done the same thing as Captain Ransom and his crew?

Probably not, but there is no certainty.

Scorpion, Part II

That makes a hat trick of fourth season openers for me.

If I remember correctly Mason, there were three episodes, including "the 37's" that were filmed during the season 1 production "year", but because they ran out of money in that fiscal year*, they had to shift them to the season 2 budget to finish F/X shots, etc. Plust it gave them more time to work out the Voyager's landing sequence.

*They ran out of money because parts of "Caretaker" had been filmed THREE TIMES!!! :o First time obviously because of the change in actresses for Capt. Janeway, and then a 2nd time because of the change in HAIR STYLES () for Kate Mulgrew. If you go back to the VoyagerSeason One DVD's there is an easter egg where Rick Berman calls it "The most expensive hair style in Hollywood" :rofl1:

Equinox definatly!

One of the extremly rare times that 2 starfleet vessels go head to head. The others occured in "The Wrath Of Khan" and DS9's "Paradise Lost".

This was the best of all of them though.

"Unimatrix zero pt2" for me, I just thought the whole concept of unimatrix zero was brilliant, and it gave us the chance to see some of the assimilated species as they realy were.
