What's your favorite episode that focused on Dr. McCoy (Bones)?

I think there are just these seven. Some of the episodes on the list are "disease" episodes, so that's why they are on the list. (Bones has to find a cure, and so forth.)

The Man Trap (S1)
The Naked Time (S1)
Miri (S1)
The City on the Edge of Forever (S1)
The Deadly Years (S2)
Spock's Brain (S3)
For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky (S3)

I love the City on the Edge of Forever and it is probably the best TOS ep ever so I decided to vote against it, simply because I have voted for it for other reasons. Make sense? Hmm.

Also, I think it is a more Kirk-centric ep. So I picked For the World is Hollow. McCoy gets the girl! What a concept! I thought he and Natira were very sweet together, he just wanted to have a good life for the time remaining. Very believable, very delicate. :)

Greetings,

Tough choice...Spock's Brain was Dr. McCoy at his best medically, but For The World is Hollow shows Leonard McCoy at HIS best IMO.

I chose the latter because it's always nice to learn about the man behind the scalpel.

I voted "For the World is Hollow..." because it was one of the few episodes I watched as a preschooler and remembered into adulthood. :)

I recall reading that "For the World is Hollow..." was De's favourite. So that's good enough for me.

McCoy might not get the last word... but he does get the girl in this one! :D

He was great in 'Spock's Brain'! 'For the world is hollow...' is close second though.

Man Trap was the definitive McCoy episode for me, but I also enjoyed For The World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky. That episode really proved how far McCoy's friendship and loyalty to Kirk and Spock went over his own happiness.

I haven't seen all of these. city on the edge of forever is the best out of the ones I've seen, which does not include for the world is hollow and I have touched the sky, which is in fact the longest title ever. Is city on the edge of forever really about McCoy? he's kind of more of plot device. Not a whole lot of screen time cause it would cut into Kirk flirting with babes which may be one of the main focuses of this and many other TOS episodes.

Definitely "For the World is hollow, and I have touched the Sky". It focused on McCoy's character, and gave us some insight as to his personality. Also, it reveals just how much he meant to his shipmates.

Man Trap was my choice due to McCoy's vulnerability to his former love. A fun episode, Imo.
