Duet with Second Skin close behind. I voted for Duet because it was the first turning point for Kira...really a gem in the first season. For the first time she's able to see past her hatred and prejudices against the Cardassians and see the individuals they are. Honestly, I think this first step was a majorly significant event in Kira's life that helped shape her character throughout the rest of the series.

Again there are so many good episodes listed here, but as wildcard said Duet really for the first time let Kira realize that Cardassians are a race of people and not just a race of murderers. It's probably one of the best episodes of season one really.

'Duet' - possibly S1's best episode, it's tour de force for Kira (and a possible best by Nana Visitor). Just a truly marvellous piece of drama transcending SF trappings.

Too me like episode "Duet" in season one.

I voted for Duet...and is arguably the best DS9 episode. "Wrongs Darker than Death or Night" is a close second, another very powerful episode that is one of my all time favorites...I also love "Second Skin" and "Return to Grace".
