I initially voted for "Captive Pursuit", which I remember from the first time around.

Having looked at the list again, I would probably switch it for "Whispers"... that one has a pretty neat twist-in-the-tale.

Oh help me out, it's been a few months since I watched DS9 - which is the one with Julian and Miles singing Jerusalem - that was one of the best moments in trek... :P

I think that's from "Explorers" but it doesn't make the list because the A-story is about the Sisko family building & travelling in an ancient Bajoran star-sailing vessel. The B-story has Bashir's old medical school rival visiting the station. He ends up drowning his sorrows with Miles and well... you know the rest. ;)

So that isn't strictly an O'Brien only story and that's probably why Kyle Nin didn't include it.

But you're right... that moment was cool and funny too! :D

Thanks CP, that would have bugged me, and I don't have time to finish watching all STE again before series 3 comes out on the 5th Sept, so couldn't go back to DS9 in time. Does anyone else have to watch whole 7 series (4 series ouch) of each ST in order, rather than skip to particular favourite episodes, or is that just me?
I vote for Explorers please.
But if you insist, Storyteller, if only for that moment 'bloody hell' when the cloud thing came down and attacked him. Oh dear, I've got to re-watch all DS9 now. Cloud thing is not good. :blush5:

It's hard to think about O'Brien working alone on DS9, as the O'Brien Bashir pair worked so well. That being said, the episode I liked the most was The Assignment. It was very well written and a good chance to see the chief on his own for a change.

"Honor Amoung Thieves" I think.

Phill and bev, the village from that episode is mentioned in the novel "Worlds of DS9 book two: Trill and Bajor", but NOT in a good way :devil2: And yes, it was called the Dal'Rok.

I love "Visionary". That is an awesome episode. I like the ending where the +5 hour O'Brien returns.

"Times Orphan" was in my opinion the best O'Brien episode! I really loved how the Chief and Keiko were willing to let go of their own desires just in order for their Molly to be happy. It was heartbreaking, but it was also neat to see the twist to the ending!

I always loved 'Visionary' - a great mix of drama, time-travel and action, not to mention the fact it technically left O'Brien dead. Plus, they blew up DS9!

'Whispers' and 'Hard Time' were both also superb SF tales.

Honour Amongst Thieves really gets under O'Brien's skin and Emopok Nor shows his skills as a combat engineer, but my all time favourite O'Brien episode is The Wounded from TNG. I think that episode also really demonstrates the humanity of the man. He's a good egg, our O'Brien.

I think Miles O'Brien is one of my favorite DS9 characters and the actor Colm Meaney is pretty amazing with the character. I voted "Hard Time" hands down....amazing amazing amazing episode, one of my all time favorites with (I think) Colm Meaney's most powerful performance. "Whispers" would be my second favorite. "Honor Among Thieves" and "Visionary" are excellent too.
