I've always liked Darmok. It's a story that Gene Roddenberry would have been really proud of.
The Best of Both Worlds will probably walk this but it's really an ensemble effort with Riker's personal crisis & the crew fighting to get Picard back.

The Best Of Both Worlds - This episode was bloody amazing, Picard suffered a trumatic experiance in which i think changed his character quite alot.

Hard to choose between the "Inner light" and "best of both worlds", two very different episodes and yet in a way very simmilar, Picard undergoes serious lifestyle change in both.
The thing that has always had me worried though is in "Inner light" he lives out what for him seems like another half lifetime and yet fits into the role of captain again a little too easily, to his perspective he's been away decades, still i guess thats why he is the greatest commander in starfleet

Chain of Command was, I think, one of the best episodes of Trek ever.

So many good ones. I voted best of both worlds because it is my favourite all time episode but there are many othe great ones: The inner light, Darmok, conspiracy and more.

Without a doubt - "The Inner Light" does it for me. It really showed Stewart's range as an actor and the telltale signs of his Shakespearean background really shined through. Superb episode.

I agree you could really see Stewart's passion for the theater in that episode

Hard desicion. He gave so many wonderful performances during the run. But my number one episode is Inner Light.
But I also loved, Family, Darmok Perfect Mate, BOBW and All Good Things. Not necessarily in that order.

Inner light, of course, but one of my favorites is not listed here. "The Drumhead" is absolutely one of my favorites, especially considering that it was the precursor of what is happening in the US today. It was produced in 1991 and it really brings home how much we have not evolved in the years that have followed.

i thought chain of command was about as good as star trek gets.......all good things is the best episode of next gen......with yesterday's enterprise comming in close second......

Inner Light and Best of Both Worlds were both great.. I would say Inner Light between the two.. And I am not sure if this is the title or not.. but Four Lights was another favorite of mine.. It is where the Romulans have Picard and try to break him by saying there are more or less lights than there actually are..
