I voted for "The Inner Light" because it is indeed THE episode for Jean-Luc and also one for Sir Patrick Stewart to show what he can really do as an actor.

yeah, Inner Light is awesome.

I almost went with the more shallow option, however - to simply vote for "Time Squared" because it features TWO Jean-Lucs and thus offers more Jean-Luc goodness for me. And it's a second season episode, the second season is my favorite. But still, in the end I was able to resist the temptation. :P

You didn't think about voting for All Good Things? It has 3 Jean-Lucs. :P

That it does. But it also has too much of a certain red-headed doctor I can't stand. So... nope. ;)

The Drumhead should be there, it is quite simply the best TNG has too offer, and that is quite a statement considering all the quality available. No other episode comes close to demonstrating the intergrity of Picard and what a decent human being he is. In its absence I voted for Darmok but Chain of Command would have done just as well.

I completely agree with your comments about "The Drumhead," one of Patrick Stewart's finest performances of The Next Generation. I especially enjoyed his interaction with Worf, as he was quick to point out that one's guilt should never assumed simply because he chose not to answer a question or to discuss a significant personal issue. In spite of the threat he was facing in Admiral Satie, Picard never wavered from his value system, and remained an advocate for his crew, even as Satie and her staff made them a target of their suspicions.
