Definatly GTA 3. I never bought any of the games cos they were just over priced but I played my cousins copy of GTA3 and completed it after a month. I never spent much time playing it but it was very good. I never really liked Vice City, I guess I am just not much of a fan of 80s miami. My PS2 died so I started playing GTA San Andreas on my cousins console, but he brought the lot off to college with him and I just forgot all about it. I really like San Andreas but I never got far enough into it so I could not really comment on it.

I played all of them, except for San Andreas. Like I said in some of the previous topics, I'm a former gamer. I don't play games anymore.

To be honest, I found the classic GTA games more enjoyable. I like the new ones like GTA3 or Vice City too, but GTA2 ROCKS! Anyone agree? Classic is classic. :)

Hard to choose... I like all of them equally for different reasons... :)

GTA1 was The First... When I saw one of my classmates playing with it, and it became clear that I could steal EVERY vehicle I want and I could do ANYTHING I want in the big city, I wanted to get that game right away... :D

GTA2 had a fantastic atmosphere, a unique Gotham-like visual design, and a stable netcode (at least on LAN). That's why we still play with it on LAN-parties.

GTA3 was the first 3D game which had the same attributes that GTA1&2 owned... but it was 3D!!! :D

Vice City because of the cast... Ray Liotta is simply fantastic in it... :)

San Andreas because of the size of the map, the diversity of vehicles, and the time (I like the 90's better - which is not surprising... I remember to it better than to the 80's).

London was always more of an expansion pack than an actual release

  • Interests:Other than Star Trek, I'm a video game fiend (doing my dissertation on them, hoping to become a VG journalist one day), my favourite franchises are the Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto (particularly the Vice City games) Guitar Hero, Command and Conquer to name but a few. I also like some other sci-fi including Star Wars, Quantum Leap, Red Dwarf etc. I also love to write, although that's taken a back seat of late due to all this uni work.

Wow, this is an old thread!

Anyway, my fav is definitley Vice City. Much like others I love the 1980s era, and although San Andreas made some good improvements, I found the game world too big and the music badly lacking.

Currently playing Vice City Stories on PS2 at the moment, a must buy for Vice City gans n_n

Has anyone of you seen the GTA4 trailer?

It seems that Rockstar uses 2007's Liberty City again as location... but this time, it is going to be a complete rip-off of New York City with its own statue of liberty, Empire State Building and Brooklyn Bridge. I don't know how big the city is going to be, but if its size is going to reach the dimensions of San Andreas... Well... Then, the new king of the GTA's will born.

yea it were me... and I said I got into the buses... figured out thier route and followed that all the way around vice city... stopping at all the bus stops and picking people up

@JohnBart - there's a discussion started about the trailer in the computers discussion board... though on reflection it would probably have been best in this board :P It looked cool... SHame its Liberty City again... but I think it'll be a totally different experience... and at the very least... if it isnt a new map... it'll look lke one

Oh I do the bus thing too, and the ambulance :P Whenever I try to follow the road rules, I still end up with the police chasing me. When I'm really bored, I go on shooting rampages, or run around punching people until I have every cop in the city after me. So violent  :P

Yep. Still, Postal 2 gave me so far the most brutal gaming experience so far (and I'm using P2 as an example because the player has the same freedom in it as in the GTAs... not counting the cars... :))
