Yes, but the Federation had encountered the Tamarians before numerous times. I think it's safe to assume that by the time Kirk was on the Enterprise the Tamarians had already been discovered, possibly even before that. We're not given a precise date, so we can work with that to fit the story. I admit my reasoning isn't exactly solid, but I don't think that having the NX01 deal with Tamarians would be a violation of canon. :)

Of course it would not violate canon, I just think it's a bit unrealistic.

Okay, I'll agree with that. But I've always thought that an excellent writer + a mediocre idea = a great story!

I've got no specific plot ideas although I'll freely admit that the great shame of loosing Enterprise for me was that we would not be able to see this fascinating series explore all the possibilities that the time period holds.

Might I suggest though that you do a bit of lateral thinking about presentation? I've never read any of the eBooks in the Voyager Virtual Season Project but I have the greatest admiration for their classy website, the "Book cover art" and the wide choice of download formats.

Thinking outside the box here, given that the new iPod Video store has just opened ...

What if one of the options in a classy Virtual Enterprise website was for the user to subscribe to the series in the same fashion as a podcast, so that when a new episode was available it would be downloaded to their iTunes automatically. I was thinking along the same lines for a subscription system for fan films, but someone said that there would be a bit of software development needed because at present iTunes is only setup to work with mp3's (and now video files I suppose).

... or perhaps an option could be a quick and easy download of any of the formats using Bit Torrent?

This is all free download, non-profit of course but it's a great way of up and coming writers and artists getting some practise in their craft and, who knows, getting their name known in fan circles? Can't hurt a writer, eh?

Following through from the Wikipedia article I checked out Phoenix Virtual Television and came across this possible competitor as well ... Enterprise Virtual Season

I see no reason why there can't be more than one virtual season 5, I mean after all none of them are going to regarded as Canon anyway are they? It simply give the reading public more choice of reading material. I would suggest though that the season that gets the most hits will be the one with the best presentation and publicity.

A publicity engine we have - Trek United - but it's like they say about good comedy.

It's all in the delivery. B)

Cheers

Do you have an idea for an episode of "To Boldly Go"? We would love to hear if any Enterprise fans out there have episode ideas....please post them here

Tell me, do you accept only the plot or can I write the story myself?

My idea revolves around Starfleet starting to deal w/ attacks on their frieghters by Nausican maruaders. There was never any explaination why Archer just left the Nausican pirate base intact and alone in "Fortunes Son", and as we know there are other pirates out there.

This story, entitled "Koybiashi Maru" takes us there, and, in keeping w/ the theme of season 4, planting the seeds for the Federation we know from TOS, TNG, DSN & VOY.

Let me know what you think.

I suppose it really depends. If you could please send a plot synopsis and a writing sample to st.toboldlygo@gmail.com, we'll review it and let you know. :)
