Sorry. I meant to clarify. I competed in State Competition for Collegiate DECA. I was a finalist in both International Marketing and Ad Campaign.(6th place in International, 4th in Ad campaign) By being a finalist, I qualified for ICDC (International Career Development Conference.)I'm so stinkin' excited I can't stand it! Although, I'm having some issues with my partner, but that should work itself out, hopefully. But that's beside the point. So once April rolls around, I will be very much inactive, more so than now. :(

Thanks Trekkin and Tish, my wife still has a few more tests over the next few weeks. My sons pneumonia is nixed and he's back at work.

Congrats Kate! Sounds exciting!

I'll have a coffee as well Pink2 and off to work till the snow starts to fly.

I don't know normal this or not: when i speaking on english language i have some accent. I hope what this is not danger or bad for me?I just more don't all know about english language,some people say what this is normal,other say what this is bad.And more i on ear can't understand have i accent or not,i only how think.

Practice. The older you learn english the harder it is to get rid of an accent, my parents are french... and their english is atrocious, but people understand and can converse so it works out, there's just no getting out of that. Now I don't know.. I'd say before the age of 13 you probably won't have an accent... I have a cousin who learned english at 13, he has an accent, but I account this for the fact that he moved back to a french community. I was brought up billingual from the get go I speak english people assume I'm english, I speak french and people think I'm from Quebec, I go to Quebec they think I got lost on my way to Nouveau Brunswick; which is where I'm originally from so :buttrock:

Just keep conversing and practice corrected pronunciation and you'll be fine

Yeah,this is very bad.Today i watching episode "Star trek:Ds9":"Past prologue" and i understand story only on 50-52 percent yet animated series("X-men:Evolution","Exo squad","ThunderCats" and other) i understand on 97-98 percent.
Interesting know why i can't understand "Star Trek" on english language,maybe because this series was maked for adults people and english language in this series is very hard yet animated series was maked for kids and teenagers and english language in this animated series is very easy,but me comfortable with my english level watching animated series than sci fi series,because i have level english language level pre intermediate.Maybe sometime i can watching "Star trek" on english language but don't now,because i more don't have good level english what can will be begun watching sci fi series in original.

Well Star Trek really did a lot with its language. Especially TNG. I mean for one they make up a lot of vocabulary, but the dialogue of someone like Picard is more of someone who is well versed in english (naturally)

Darkwing,agree with you.This is not fear,if i don't understand "Star trek".Have other good series in world,for example animated series,it too can watching.

Yeah, animated shows will generally help because they're geared towards children who obviously haven't developed a full sense of language yet.

I started learning English when I was 15. My accent is much subtler now because of all the practice, but it was terrible!


My boss just decided that we'll have to learn as many langauges as possible because of the World Cup. He enrolled me in a German course... :wallbash:
