Egad, Pauline, that's quite a saga. Reminds me why I don't like to travel...

WHY do they always do that??? *pulls hair out of head* Lol. I do like getting a break though...

One of my math teachers told me that nobody really cares if you know math (at least beyond the basics); they just teach it to people because it's hard. If you do well in math, it shows you're a hard worker and can stick to difficult tasks. I imagine a similar principle is involved here; they're making you suffer just to see if you'll crack or not.

'Ello! I'm back. I really need to stop crashing at the bar... it seems there's a new ten forward every time I log on... Anywho, hopefully I can actually hang out and visit more often. Just finished up State competition and am now getting ready for Nationals! Oh yeah!

I'm feeling really guilty for not being around much. Work has been very busy and family has been sick. My son has pneumonia and my wife is still going thru a lot of tests.
Off to set up another Home Show in a few minutes and working at it today and thru the weekend.

Coffee pink2 and could you beam me a cup every few hours.

Hmm... But what about the professors with TAs who grade everything for them?

I don't know, my professor don't have TAs. They do all the work by themselves.

I will restate being soooo happy for your trip, Pauline, and bummer on that international travel scenario! Good for you, girl, you are now an experienced flyer....courage comes to all a brave enough to face their fears!
Kate...what did I miss....which competition are you competing? Excellent though, being at staTe and international levels!!
Bill, I hope you are fine with prayers, because you, your wife and now your son have been in mine. Sending hugs and health to you all.
I have been gone, but still here in spirit..we stayed at the Brazilian themed Rio in Las Vegas. No wifi, hence my absence here, however, we did have a Mardi GRAS aerial show with parade and beads on Tuesday!! Throw me some thing mister!
Hubby and I had a great vacation getaway, up until the last night, when I suffered food poisoning. Luckily, all the unpleasantness was over by the time we boarded the plane, tho I still had great discomfort. Slept all the way home, even in the car from Houston to house. Hubby was a ROCK.
Today, after 12 hours sleep, I am taking it easy....so far only plain breads, chicken stock, water and ginger ale seem to help. Good thing that is the perfect treatment for food poisoning...plenty of liquids and bland food.
So even though the end was crappy, the rest of our getaway was fun! Did not lose Nor win...broke even with what gambling I did. Watched two shows, The Rat Pack is Back, and Penn & Teller (love their Bull$#it show!) . Did all the touristy things...lots of walking to see Bellagio fountains, Mirage volcano, Treasure Island pirate show...cool seing all the different scenes in the casinos too!
Very glad to sleep in my own bed last night.....ahhhh home!

TUCKER: Malcolm? REED: I see it. TUCKER: Good. Means I'm not hallucinating. How can a ship be bigger on the inside than the outside? REED: It could be a hologram. TUCKER: Hand me that hyperspanner. (drops it down the hole - it hits bottom after two seconds) REED: You're not going down there? TUCKER: Got to get my spanner back.

Well, if I understood you correctly, I don't have any preferences. it all depends on the song and the lyrics. And you?

That is quite a journey Pauline.
It reminds me of a domestic flight from Melbourne > Sydney > Orange. The Sydney flight was delayed and we took off a hour late. We made time up in the air and they held the Orange flight for us. Our names where called over the plane intercom and we where led off the plane and through a side door and out another door to the waiting plane. After about an hours flight in a small 18 seater plane, we arrived in Orange at about 7pm and our luggage came with us!!! We where expecting to come back to the airport the next day to collect our luggage.

Don't feel guilty. You have good reasons for not being here. Hope your family gets better soon.
