I think the phasers in next gen improved with age. I disliked the 'dusbust' version but immediately appreciated the replacement and it's DS9 variation. I suppose my question is: did anybody like the 'dustbuster' Phaser?

I doubt it, it has to be one of the ugliest Phasers ever created.

My favorite is still the Assault Phaser from ST VI.

Yeah, they were a little bulky; but then they kinda went to the other end of the scale spectrum with those Cricket Phasers. They seem too small for use.TNG has to be the Cobra Phaser. But in reality, Dolphin all the way!
