I'm one of the few who liked it. There have been better Trek movies, but it was a good morality play, it had enough action to satisfy me, and it had some fairly funny moments, too.

"Definitely feeling some aggressive tendencies, captain!"

Also, it was the first Trek movie I saw in the theater, so it has a special place in my heart for that.

I liked it because it was more than just a kill-the-bad-guy movie like so many of the Trek movies were. Riker and Troi finally got to admit their feeling to each other. And I liked the music.

Personally it was my least favorite of the Next Generation era movies. It was still a good movie, but not nearly as good as Generations or First Contact.

Insurrection would have been more appropriate as a two-part television episode, but I enjoyed it. There are several nice "character" moments, and the political and ethical implications of the film are interesting to discuss.
