If you go off the original book, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" I'm pretty sure that he wasn't (working from memory), but the movie, Blade Runner has taken on an existence that has by far outshadowed the book. I've recently come across an interesting link on io9...

Does it make me think any different about the movie? Maybe it should - I'm going to watch it again - but its more important for what could be done as a sequel. You doubt there will be one? Just wait until Hollywood starts getting short on ideas again!
