Posted Image Well, another year has come and gone and it's almost time for SHORE LEAVE to roll around again. SL, for those who aren't already familiar with it on the convention circuit, is one of the oldest and largest all-volunteer sci-fi & media conventions in the nation. This year's edition, our 32nd annual gathering, will be coming to the Marriott's Hunt Valley Inn just north of Baltimore, Md. on the weekend of July 9-11, 2010.

Our special guests this year include the highly respected actor EDWARD JAMES OLMOS, as well as his Galactica co-star, the lovely and talented KATEE SACKHOFF. Also, we'll have the ever-popular KEVIN SORBO from such shows as Hercules and Andromeda. Plus, representing the various guises of the Stargate universe, we have both TORRI HIGGINSON and BILL DOW. On top of that, we have DOMINIC KEATING from Enterprise and several other current TV roles, and CATHERINE HICKS from her famous roles in Star Trek IV and the hit series 7th Heaven.

In addition to our actor guest stars, Shore Leave prides itself on always drawing a goodly number of professional writers from the sci-fi and fantasy universes, as well as various artisans such as costumers. Also, we feature several scientists from such facilities as the Hubble Space Telescope who come and talk about the latest astronomical discoveries and what the future might bring.

Among our special events include:Q&A sessions with guest stars, photo opps with guests, fan panel discussions, all-weekend-long gaming, video presentations, comedic skits, a huge costume contest, a late-night dance, a Friday night meet-and-greet with our writers, workshops, charitable events, children's programming, and much more.

Feel free to check out our official website, www.shore-leave.com as the time draws nearer for all the fine details. We're looking to have a full house this year, so if you're thinking of attending please pre-register early and get in touch with the Inn to reserve your rooms, because they never last.

We hope that TrekUnited will be well-represented at this year's show!!
