Smallville Officially Renewed for 10th Season

The CW has officially renewed Smallville for a tenth season, to begin airing in the fall of 2010.

As it is, Stargate SG-1 currently holds the record for longest-running (American) sci-fi series, at ten seasons. But when the tenth season of Smallville is completed next year, it will tie with SG-1 with number of seasons, but will surpass it with number of episodes.
