That was actually one of the better movies. If you want real torture watch the odd-numbered Trek movies, especially The Final Frontier.

What didn't you like about The Voyage Home?

I liked The Voyage Home but I didn't like the Motion Picture.
"Give me your boot." "What for?"
"So I can squash it." "Are we allowed to squash alien life forms?"
"If they're inside your sleeping bag. There it is. Wait a minute. Where'd you put the phase pistols?"
"You wanna shoot a bug?"

It was such a blatant piece of environmental propoganda. Don't get me wrong I am all for saving species in this world and keeping them from going extinct, but I found the whole 'save the whales or you will die from an alien probe in the future' tag laughable.

granted yea it could have been worse, it could have been the the 5th movie which was just film making masterbation!

I know it is not the first film to enforce an ideal on the masses and its not new that Star Trek addresed issues of the times but, it is the only Trek film to do so in a very open manner. just doesn't sit well with me. I feel it could have been done better, plot wise, acting wise etc.

Agreed, but I think it was very close to crossing the line of how serious it took itself. Reduced greatly by the Spock asking his father to tell his mother, he feels fine.
